Mary Ann Jessee, PhD, RN is Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Academics, Generalist Nursing Practice at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She has 18 years of teaching and leadership experience at VUSN and an extensive background in medical-surgical and critical care generalist nursing. Mary Ann earned her MSN at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and her PhD in Nursing at Oregon Health and Science University. Her expertise includes facilitating student development of sound clinical reasoning and judgment through innovative learning experiences in the classroom and clinical learning environment. Her research and scholarship include the influence of the nursing learning environment on the development of clinical judgment and clinical outcomes, and theoretical and systematic support and teaching strategies.
