Peter had been with us for two months now. I know him. I know what he likes to eat and when he likes to eat it. I know what he wants to hear and what he doesn’t. I know when he was frustrated and revving up to be violent. Because I know Peter so well, I can teach others to know him too. I want him to feel safe and cared for as much as possible. I have high expectations in who can sit with Peter…..Occasionally he will bang his head against the wall in frustration. I also know when he feels vulnerable and is looking for “Mary’s” hand to hold, he takes ours quietly and calms down immediately…..
